| Quote (Trekwolf164 @ Aug. 26 2006, 7:27 pm) | The A/C was wonderful after coming in from 100 degrees to be able to cool off . I thanked the Creation Volunteer every time I saw her . |
I agree - I thought the A/C was just right. And yes, the puppet show sucked, big time! It would have been nice to have something up on a screen to watch in between things (although the fighting and arguing was entertaining) and more science stuff and such going on in the other ballroom. The water coolers were much appreciated, by the way.

The water has always been there in past conventions.

yeah, those package tickets were really pricey--but not pricey enough for them to not be sold out.

I guess if people are willing to pay it............I know I wasn't. I think a fair price would have been half of what they charged.

I was wondering why people were arguing over seats around me. I thought Creation didn't re-sell seats.
I was concerned, however, by the number of ultra severly disabled children that were in attendance; who seemed completely unaware of their surroundings except for when there was a lot of cheering, in which they thrashed violently in their wheelchairs. It just seemed rather cruel.
I was annoyed with the people on scooters who were using it as a "disability" ticket to get first in line for things....and then I see them walking later on.

You should have made sure they had to be on a scooter next time because they really were disabled, thanks to you.

Oh I'd definitely go again if I had the money. This year money was tight cause I'm not working but I'll eventually find another job and get the chance to go again. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of it - except the puppet show.

This was my first ST Con, but I have been to events put on by other fandoms. Overall, I had a good time, and would go again, but there were some things I'd vote for changing.
I definitely vote for adding a hospitality suite where fans can meet each other.
Also, the programming seemed to fall into 5 categories: 1. listening to actors; 2. purchasing photos; 3. purchasing signatures; 4. purchasing "collectibles" and 5. purchasing additional pricy tickets for breakfasts/parties. I DID go to one breakfast, and had a good time, but I would have liked more "community" activities.
Check out the programming at the Lumos conventions for Harry Potter fans (ducking for cover). We got 3 days of 7 simultaneous tracks of lectures, workshops, parties, games, panel discussions, general tomfoolery, etc, etc, for the same price.
My question is: The upcoming Creation event in Secaucus focuses on the opportunity to get 3 Captains' sigs/photos. What if you've already gotten them at other events? Do people still come?

Well i was told by the people who own creation that they dont allow anyone to go up to the front so that no one's seats are blocked. They also said if they let one person up they would have to let everyone up front and that wouldnt be fair to the gold pass. heres the email:
Me: Will we be able to take photo cameras to the stage area to get better pictures? Creation: No normally you would have to take them at your seat. If everyone got up imagine the chaos.
Oh and definately someone announcing when stuff is. I got screwed on the Shatner photo op cause 1) didnt have a watch 2) no one was announcing

Proper Refunds!!!!! Less than 1 hour before Jolene cancelled, I handed over $700 in cash for her autograph tickets. ¿When she cancelled, I went back to the same person who I had just handed the cash to and was told I could not receive a refunds because they "didn't have the funds". What a crock! ¿Instead I had to pay to have the tickets overnighted (got to have a signature on that! and wait for them to give me a credit.
