lol sitting straight for many many hours and multiple days, especially while learning.

What kind of meditation is this? What is it to do with, and what is it for? I'm not sure it would be effective to sit continuously for many days, but if we extend the time period of learning we can perhaps use a similar technique for a shorter period of time every day as a basis to gradually bring about change.

This intrigues me. I would like to know more about this kind of meditation. Do you have any links to some more in-depth information about it?

Vipassana Meditation

it just takes that much tim to learn. once you learn it you can do it for like an hour every day.

Fair enough, well thank you for the link, I'll have to read through and see what can be used, it sounds promising :)

This thread's still open for ideas, if anyone has them. I think this will be one of those things that will take a combination of several other disciplines to achieve. So keep the ideas flowing!

Seriously tho, emotion suppression would have some serious side effects on the psyche. Think of what happens to people who have under gone sleep deprivation. Now learning to control ones emotions...that's a different story. And yes meditation/yoga is excellent in helping to clear the mind. Life also teaches you how as well. Control that is.

Uh...yeah, before you try to supress anything talk to a psychologist about the risks (and perhaps the reasons you would want to do this as well).

Well maybe in order to do the no emotion thing, you could probably be patient when people tick you off and or be tolerant of other people. You could try not to look excited when some one gives you a reason to.

I don't know people really can't truly hide their emotions because there will always be a way for some one to read your body language like the way your eyes look or other parts of the body, which is kind of involuntary anyways.
