I'm use online games where the high levels rule all and to get help you need to be in a highend guild (actually i've only played two MMORPGs :P), what i'm hoping is that StarTrek or the community of it will be great, at least what StarTrek stands for it's hard to imagine a bunch of idiots playing it running around calling everyone a noob (which is really annoying), that is one of the reasons i'm looking forward to STO, i think it will bring a really cool community that i'm not used to at least in online gaming.

I'd like to hear other people's opinions on this please :D.

I'm not nice to noobs, especially when they don't spell correctly.
Just because everyone else is an idiot doesn't mean you have to be as well.

I was and they did.
It is my experience that all noobs, everyone of them, start(ed) out as absolute pricks, so why give them respect instead of them earning it?

Looks like some never grow out of a pubescent stage of resorting to aggression to gain attention and respect.

I pity you, and certainly do not respect you.

Did it ever occur to you that his or her native language may or may not be English?  Since this is an international community hub, we have had to learn, and respect how other people spell.  It is not exactly an offence to incorrectly spell, so why step over the line?

Secondly, why does someone have to earn respect from anyone?  Do we not live in a society where we are innocent until proven guilty?  Therefore, we assume that someone has a valid point until proven otherwise, if not, I simply feel both pity and sympathy with those incapable of basic social skills.

To SuikodenUSAF
I agree with your concerns.  To often we find a miss placed elitism based on fictional leveling and powers of an online personality used in MMOs.  The most enjoyable games are often those which support and cultivate a friendly, welcoming community focused on interaction rather than competition.
Not to say competition is not fun, but it certainly should never resort to elitist attitudes because Player X manages to squeeze 80 hours a week into a game.

PS - Welcome.

(I wouldn't normally rise to this kind of post, but seeing as this was a direct insult towards a new community member, I find the response to be pretty distasteful and down right rude.  Tuvoc, if you wish to troll, do so without harming the name of ST:O by tarnishing the image of the community supporting it's development.)

Sadly every online game you play you will get the You're a NOOB comment, part of online gaming.
Showerz, you plan on playing this if it comes out? If so send me a PM. Maybe we can get others from the TOS board and form our own crew :)
