The 1:1 ratio being referred to is the ratio of matter to anti-matter used in a given reaction, you cant have more anti-matter reacting than matter or vice versa. Any excess of either without the other wouldn't do anything. They're not talking about the energy input to energy output ratio, they're talking about matter to anti-matter ratio.

what I am saying is that if you have a ratio of 1:1 even with a matter, anti-matter combo you will still have a bleed off of energy thus causing that ratio to drop to a 1:1/2 that's why I am saying that a ration of 1:2 would be better to compensate for that bleed off. If you have the 1:1 ration with energy bleed off then you would have less energy output then you would input, thus resulting in more energy being input then would be ouput, resulting in a very inefficient engine.

wow congratulations you should publish this imediately and win a Nobel Prize for solving the engineering task of creating a 100% efficient engine.

I think this was addressed in a TNG episode....something to do with maximum warp disrupts or destorys subspace or beings living in subspace...

don't for get that they fixed that from "voyager" on. so now that is not a problem.

an even better ratio would be a 2:5 or 2:7 ration which would be saying two inputs of a thrust potential element would equal an output of 5 or 7 potential thrust velocity.

why 2:5 or 2:7? why not a ratio of 1:1,000,000,000,000? or higher?
