I don't know a bad ship but I had a bad experience, when I started as a newbie on the Spitfire, people are very strict there, especially Ulhan Belor, It is not a good place to start for a newbie.

When I finally got entrance to the real forum (After spending a month in the Academy) I wrote: Thank you Sir, i wont let you down.

he replied:
"I" in English Mister Andersson is always a capitol letter.
I left a week later.

If you want to improve your English, visit their site :p

I'm sure they were glad to be rid of you.
Honestly, if you can't be bothered to learn simple grammer, punctuation and spelling, you shouldn't be surprised when CO's don't want you around.
I'd correct you until you left as well, and be far less likely to join a game that I saw you involved in.
Just so you know: some of us LIKE proper English.

They where indeed glad to get rid of me, for the record I did seriously try, English is not my primary language (I am Dutch).
It was my first RPG ever, I thought my English was pretty good, I was wrong.
Thanks for replying This_Is_Not_A_Test.

P.s.:What is your RPG name?

I've got several.
And I'm glad you're making an attempt to learn English for the games, especially as it isn't your first language. But the tone of your post made it seem like you quit because people were correcting you, and that you didn't appreciate it.

Seeing as how all computers have at the very least a spell checker, and most of them will give you proper grammar suggestions as well, my advice to you would be to write your post out first in a program such as Word, and carefully check for errors. It'll make sure you get your character's point across correctly, and help you with your language lessons as well!

I use Google spell check, my English is a lot better now.
I have English and French lessons.

P.s.:Don't be so presumptuous next time, It's not cool to treat someone like that.

You have a nerve TINAT...

Who the hell do you think you are to talk to people like that?
I tend to find that those whose primary language is NOT english, often have a better grasp on the grammar!

Where the hell are YOU from, Oh Great and Mighty portrayer of the english language....

I would be god damned annoyed if someone corrected ME like that! Its not a damn 'learn your english here' board, there are a huge number of people who have dyslexia or learning difficulties in this world, and its not helped by morons like YOU and this other dude, pointing out peoples failings when all they are there for is having fun.

So get down off your damn high horse and have a bit of respect, get rid of the predjudice...and I hope to god I'm on a simm board YOU are on....

:grr:

BTW...

I AM english....and proud of it......

What are you on about?

First of all, Scope THANKED me for responding.

Second, I CONGRATULATED him on the proper use of a word that many Americans don't even know the meaning of.

Finally, I have no prejudice against people who don't have as firm a grasp of English as you. I DO have a prejudice against people who don't even make the attempt at proper spelling or grammar, and who join and run 100 games with wild abandon, heaving one-sentence posts around and making no attempt to further a story. And you know as well as I do that this place is a breeding ground for them.

And before you start beefing again, nowhere in this reply am I incriminating Scope, you, or any other single person. I'm simply exercising my freedom of speech to make a point, okay?

Seeing as how I never intended this to turn into an argument, I'll nod and say point taken, if you say you'll try not to read tone of voice into my posts, okay? Peace?

Okay, I might as well post on topic...

I had an... interesting time when I was with the "Who Wants to Be a Jedi?" threads... they were alright, at first... but then people began god modding, relating themselves to long-dead Sith Lords, and just plain being stupid. There were a few whom took it seriously, but only a few. I highly recommend joining a forum RPG, such as the one I am about to create... speaking of which, PM me if you'd be interested in co-Administrating. :) Yes, this is shameless promotion. :P
