What do you think? A moving Starfleet Gargantua-heffa Mothership?
it's not canon, but could it perhaps be cool?

Doubtful that they would have some kind of motherhumper sized vessel. The galaxy class starship is a pretty big ship it has a crew complement of 1014 that doesnt include familys or non esential personal (catering , tenforward etc etc) so given that in most instances mmorpg populations are normally around 250k (not counting wow) that is a lot of galaxy class starships floating around as for some kind of super ship i suspect that perpetual will link it more to a starbase than a super ship. which if you think about it if they can take a galaxy class starship into the front then the whole starbase must be pretty humongous

There will be no mothership or floating planets, this is Star Trek not Babylon 5, etc. Seeing that this game is being tightly overseen by CBS I'm 99.99% sure everything will be Canon in this game.

/signed PE have already said they're sticking as close to canon as possible, and I don't remember seeing the Enterprise visiting a giant starship thats whole purpose is to pretend it's a planet. Galaxy's and Soverigns (and maybe a new big ship), but please no giant flying planet.

well there are shards and not all 250k people are on one shard and on at the same time. A more educated guess would be 18,000 on at the same time in one server cluster because not everyone logs on at the same time of day. making that so a few star bases and a few galaxy class ships will be more then enough to poulate and sustain a community not only that but player owned ship will also be present. instanced bridge is what I think they called it the ship will be static just bridge on AI coputer ships willbe instanced.

I believe I speak for a lot of ¿hard core trekkies.¿ The more STO wavers from Cannon Trek the more it will be disliked.

A Starfleet Mothership is not the kind of thing Starfleet is into.

No but I do recall a space station that the enterprise could dock inside of and it still had room for several ships inside it. This is just a thought here. It was on the series 011001110011, was like one of the first 5-10 shows in the series of TNG.

Yup, starbase, right? Those don't warp around. They're 'fixed' in whatever sense of fixed in space you can have.

"For the World is Hollow and I have Touched the Sky" It may not have been a mothership but how about the NCC-1701-J from the future (the ship Daniels took Archer to) Or maybe the first Federation Ship Fesarius or its 24th century equivalent. Maybe even run into a ship of the Dyson Sphere builders Those have to be massive if they used them to restructure an entire star system

Yeah you have to stick with Canon!!! A mothership would be like, after 2 series (roughly 20 years) of peaceful Fed-ie exploration and diplomacy ships makein a starship JUST for combat!! It's crazy I tellzya CRAZY!!
