I think the E is far superior to D. got rid of all those windows and streamlined the ship...beautiful! i just wish they would have used secondary shielding like the Semetar. as far as more torpedo bays? remember it's not a war ship...it's for peace and exploration. but i'll go for making the phaser array more powerful and increasing the torpedo compliment.

One damn minute, Admiral.

Ya know, the Sovereign was a mightier warship and, at the time, the federation needed to start intimidating their enemies, as the list had gotten so long. But the sovereign couldn't have single-handedly taken on a borg cube, like the Galaxy showed it could. (First Contact against Best of Both Worlds).

As for making your own ship class, yeah... whoop de do. My ship is the size of the galaxy and shoots planets at you. Lets not talk about what already is and make up new stuff. Way to go Mr. Dynasty. My ship is "Days of our Lives" class and would whip yer ships butt. Thats all i got on that.

However, back in real fantasy (not delusion-class statements), we never did get to see what a Sovereign class would look like in the future like we saw the Enterprise D's overhauled design in "All Good Things...". That ship was major bad-ass. 3 warp nacelles, cloaking device, quantum phasers that could actually slice through shield and hull in one shot. Hell Yes.

no, the GALAXY class could NOT single handedly take a Borg cube. remember episode Q,Who?...where Picard first encountered the Borg? they got cut, lost lives, ran and got chased down! Picard was begging Q to send them back.

One damn minute, Admiral.

I think that is an unfair comparison. We had maybe 150 hours of D content and 6 hours of E content, for all we know, the E had numerous warp core issues in that other 144 hours.

good point...the Semetar did knock out the warp drive on the first shot. thats why i think the SOVEREIGN class should have secondary sheilding as well.

One damn minute, Admiral.

I think the Sovereign class should have QUADRARY shielding. I mean, why not? We might as well go all out. Get them armed with giant sling shots that shoot flaming hot squirrels, too. That would be frigging devistating.

Do you mean the "Scimitar," by the way?

The E had TONS of windows, probably in weight. Trust me, I've painted them twice. And being the guy that refurbishes the space shuttle's 11 windows, trust me, keeping those 200 + windows safe and clean is probably one of the biggest chores for the maintenance crew.

the Semetar is the Remin ship that battled Enterprise and the two warbirds. yeah and why not put a smokescreen on her too...

You're right MR perhaps I spoke hastily, but you have to admit it was annoying to see the D's warp core breaching so much in the Show (and movie). We do see a lot of other ships, however, and we never saw the NX-01 core breaching or either of Kirk's Enterprises. I can't remember if the Defiant had any but i don't think it did. Voyager had like one breach, which didn't do any real damage so the D's not looking so good in comparison.

The Enterprise D just had a touchy warp core. They needed to eject that piece of crap and get another more stable warp core that could stand being tickled before it breached.

So this dyslexic walks into a bra...

The warp core breach storyline was way over done. Who would want a ship that would friggin almost blow up every few weeks?

But the D was classic - nice smooth lines, and peaceful looking.

The Galaxy-class will always be my preference, among these two.

Yeah, the GALAXY class showed its presence over the other federation ships in First Contact..which was impressive. i wonder how they are going to show the SOVEREIGN in the future.

No biggie...i wish they would've made the D tougher too, Enterprise D musta been built by Ford of the future...jk. all jokes aside it made me sick to see a ship destroyed every movie.
