That bring up a good point.

Will we be able to have pets in the game?

Also:

Can we still board other ships, if so can we capture the NPC emeny ship to keep?

1. Will you be adding in any other playable races?

2. What specializations will there be for the department you choose?( examples: stellar cartographer, medical officer, warp drive specialist, ect.)

What are your plans for The Computer?  Will we have access by voice commands?  How interactive will the computer be?  I don't think the computer has been discussed much, but it plays such a significant role I would appreciate hearing more about your plans for this system.

Will we have EMHs, or hologram crew of any sort?  Will players be provided with basic tools to modify an EMH in any way?  I suppose they would amount to a variation on a basic NPC that the players can program.  :)

Are there any plans for voice communications/chat between players?  Or perhaps what some people refer to as voice-overs.  The area of voice communications of any type probably needs further clarification.


When in combat, I assume there are plans to have characters tossed around on occasion?   :p

Do you have plans for creating, naming and assigning ships yet?

Once assigned, how long will characters be allowed to command ships?  Will you ever force characters to be reassigned?  Will you ever force characters to change ships and/or assign the ship they command to someone else?

What options will be available for controlling ships?  This is everything from accepting missions and moving the ship when the Captain is offline to the details on how the ship operates when the Captain is online.  Perhaps this is to broad a question.

Last I heard the plans were to remove Helm and put nearly total control of the ship in the hands of the Captain.  To what extent will the Captain have options to delegate command/control to other officers?  Will we be able to give the Helm and/or the Engineer greater freedom to make decisions  and control the ship?  Will there be a Helm?

I have the impression that travel will be close to instantaneous when using some type of transwarp system/network.  I had the impression this method of travel has certain risks involved, and/or tends to break down.  Are you ready to provide more details on this system and the limitations yet?  How easy/convenient will it be to use this system?  Will anyone be able to use it at any time?

Traveling around at warp speed will take longer, but how much longer?  Can you go anywhere or will there be limitations when traveling by standard warp speeds?

What sort of general ratings, if any, will there there be for characters, ships, crew?  Will we have ratings such as prestige, influence, fame, and efficiency?  If so, currently which ones do you plan to use, and in what way(s)?

Are there any guidelines and/or restrictions on how players name their characters?

Will there be a Prime Directive?  How will it be handled?  What sort of consequences, if any, will characters suffer for violating the Prime Directive?  For that matter, what sort of consequences are there for violating any orders?

What is being done to address potential player problems as they pertain to rank and orders?  What abilities, tools, and assistance will players have available to help them deal with difficult players?

Has a decision been made on how far characters can be promoted?  Are you ready to announce details on the system for promoting characters?

I imagine crew quarters will be instances, although with unique modifications.  However, will the entrance to the quarters be unique aboard the ship?  Will one door go to one particular instance?  Will there be a name and number that uniquely identifies those quarters on the outside?

Character vs Character combat.  As others have asked, when the game is initially released will this still restricted to the holodeck?  Will there be plans in the future to provide players the opportunity to compete against each other outside the holodeck?  It doesn't matter much to me, but many players will want to play a game where they just shoot things up; are there any plans to provide something in the game to keep them occupied?

Will there be many opportunities for missions where negotiation and diplomacy will be the key?

What about game features for players who love to explore and investigate?

To what extent will missions be static and/or dynamic?

To what extent, if any, do player actions have an impact on the game universe?  Will missions and events be available repeatedly?  Or will some be unique?  How much variation will they have?  For example, once a certain famous villain is defeated, or a planet is saved from an epidemic, does this keep happening as each group of players gets the same assignment or once the mission is completed is it done?  Does that very same pirate ship and crew suddenly appear at the same location every hour on the hour no matter how many times you capture or destroy it?

Most of us don't know what type of economy the Federation has.  How will this be handled in the game?  What about the other major races and how their economies function?  How will these different economies interact?  Since we don't know a lot about the game play yet, do game economies even matter?

Are there any plans to eventually allow players to go beyond characters serving in Starfleet Command?  Will players ever have the option of being a minor/prospector or a merchant hauling cargo or creating and managing establishments such as Quark's?

hrm . . . how do you explain pirates, and what sort of illegal activities do they engage in?  Will players ever get the chance to fill such roles?

To what extent will players be able to create items using replicators?  Will players be able to design and create new items, or merely use the existing patterns provided?

1) What will be your corporate philosophy regarding customer service and in-game support?

2) Does your long term plan for StarTrek Online adhere closely to your original concept of the game or do you see it's core design changing as the game evolves?

3) Do you see STO attracting a broad spectrum of game play/game players or are you aiming at a specific target market?

Will ship combat feature hull breaches where a deck will have to be sealed off?

Will warp core breaches be possible? If so will we be able to eject the core?

Will we be able to seperate the saucer section from the propulsion section in case of emergency or other scenario (provided the ship is capable of separation)?

Ok, I know we will start with three basic classes: Tactical, Science and Engineering.  I also know they say CONN will be under Command.  I am told that I can fly a shuttle as a cadet. The last thing is that Command is NOT a class in itself, so as Cadet Pilot, what am I?  The uniform is Red, am I a subclass of Engineering or Tactical?

When I become Captain, how will that affect my cool-meter? Can I expect more dates in real life? If Jaz is under my command, and we have a disagreement about PvP, will I be able to launch him out of the airlock and laugh?

I'm getting a little restless waiting for this FAQ update. Every day I don't see it is another day I feel like maybe we're all talking about vaporware.

This was posted back on March 11th, and now it's April 20th, and still no update in the FAQ. So I guest soon to PE means over 1 month.  :laugh:
