Would you prefer a Starbase, Starship, or Colony?

I'm creating a colony sim right now, the planet itself is called Phoenix, class M. The main city that we will sim at is going to be called Cochrane City, yes a city not a colony. would anyone like me to post what I have so far on the specs for the planet? I was having a conflict, cause I also like Starships and Starbases and wasn't sure if I should do a starship or starbase or a colony.

me too, but colonies and starbases allow more flexibility, especially email style sims. Starships are meant more for IRC.

Hey Rika

the problem i have with colonies and starbases is mobility. They have absolutely none. I mean look how much DS9 moved and they thought it was gonna rip itself apart(it almost did if you remember)

Actually...I prefer forum based SIMMs...they're great for any type of RPG, and your inbox doesn't fill up with SIMM emails.

But I do agree somewhat on the IRC thing...ships seem to do better in chat.

Sometimes I want a sim that doesn't go anywhere...I don't always want the fast paced RPing of a ship...I joined Timorel Colony to try a more sedate simming style, and I like it.

Yeah and you know theres the fact you arent a sitting duck. Too easy to be hit by a fleet. Unless you have defense ships. Which you have at SBD Rika. BTW what happened to my Challenger?

sure, I'll post what I have here and as for forum sims, I prefer to do email, that is what this colony sim is going to be. What I do is organize my logs by putting them into folders. And at the end of each month, I delete the logs and start with a fresh inbox.

specs:

Planet Name: Phoenix

City Name: Cochrane City

Location: located in the Alpha Quadrant in the Cochrane system.

Planet type: class M

Climate: Earth-like. Shifts every year.

City Location: on the coast line of the eastern continent.

City Population: 700,000 Starfleet 800,000 civilian total population of 1,500,000 people.

Planet Population: 1,456,100,222

Planet History:

Phoenix was the first planet to ever be colonized by the Federation. The planet's population
originally started as a home to a Starfleet Military Base. Later, it grew into a trade planet for
the Federation as allies grew. It traded many goods such as food, toys, and other stuff that
won't interfere with the Prime Directive.

Phoenix's population grew from 500,000 Starfleet to over a million Starfleet and civilians. The
planet consists of more civilians than Starfleet, approximately by 100,000 civilians. Due to the
fact that the planet grew into cities and towns rather than colonies, they placed a population
limit. Towns were to not exceed the limits of a city. A city cannot go above 900,000 people
including Starfleet.

The planet has been invaded several times by different species. Borg have been the most popular
species to attack. Due to the planet's good defense, they have been stopped several times. Due to
the good protection of the planet, a lot of species have chose to live on Phoenix. Phoenix has
been rated the number one planet for protection and trade.

I am working on the city history right now.

Well, Bryo quit, and you didn't have time to check Discovery anymore and you two were the only two who UNDERSTOOD that ship...so, the idea just kind of died off. :(

Oh sorry. Well i think it was a little too powerful anyway. Remember the argument we had over the kinetic transwarp torps I designed?
