Hi everyone,

I live in the UK and about to buy my captains chair ticket and book my flight for the Las Vagas convention in August.  I will be attending on my own and I was wondering if there were any people who would like to meet up as this is my first conference let a lone my first long distance holiday on my own!  Be great to hear from you plus any advice.

Thanks!

Samuel

Hey, I'm sure some folks from here will be there.  I haven't decided yet.  I'm waiting to see if Colm or Jeri show up (since it is the 40th and all).  It shouldn't be any problem running into people from here.

A couple of years ago there where about 12 or more people that met up at the convention...well at Quarks! It was fun and it's alway nice to have a somewhat familiar face around during the convention.
My advice....just be friendly...while your waiting in line or in the dealers room or out in the lobby. There are always people milling around and lots of cool costumes too!

Hello everybody... I4m new here because I4m desperately looking for details about the Las Vegas Convention for next August. I4m writing from Argentina and it will be my first trip to LA and Las Vegas and my second one to the States, and I4ll be there for the days of the convention so I would LOVE to go to the event. I want to know if there4s another kind of dayly ticket or something less expensive besides the Captain4s Chair 4 days pass...

thank you so much :)

Hi Samuel

I'm from Australia and my grown up daughter and I are also going to the Convention in August. It will be our first visit to the US as well. We already have our Captains Chair tickets and are about to book the holiday of a lifetime for us. We would love to meet up with other Star Trek Fans. How about meeting in Quarks Bar.

Regards

Marilyn

I'm new to this also, it will be my first trip to the US and my first convention.
I believe that they will release other cheaper tickets later (closer to the event).

Keep checking the Creation Entertainment website for updates.

They will have general admin tickets later. They always offer up the more exspensive ticket first then the cheaper ones later! The general ones are the far back seats and you don't get a seat that is just yours. The Capt chair ones you at least have a reserved seat for the whole weekend or day you have the tickets for. If its going to be your first time then by all means get the reserve tickets..they have benifits with them!
Later,
Karen

Ive gone to the con for the past three years, always a great time! Ive also managed to upgrade to B row gold tickets which is very nice :). I'd love to meet up with some folks who are going! Glad to hear that so many people are traveling from out of country.

Hi Marilyn,

I think Las Vegas will be a trip of a life time and it's so great that you're talking your daughter with you.  I wish mine were old enough to take (4 and 2.5)!  Quarks bar on wednesday night sounds great though.  I fly in at lunchtime on the wednesday so will have time to find the hotel and settle in.  DS9 has always been my favourite start trek series so Quark's Bar itself is going to be fun let a lone meeting a fellow trekky from the far side of the world!  Well, lets arrange a time that you think will be convenient for you and I will look forward to meeting you.  Who knows, if we set a time (say 7pm ish?) we might find other lone trekkers turning up!

Godbless Samuel.

Hi ens_gowron!

Well, I would be happy to meet up with a fellow trekky.  It seems there are a few uf us out there brave enough to travel on our own for something that we all have come to love!  Maybe you would like to meet up with us on Wednesday night before the convention starts.  Possibly after initial preregistration.  What do you think?  Certainly for me, its a little intimidating travelling thousands of miles to a place I have never been with no one I know on the other side!  Then again, I hear ST conventions are some of the most friendliest places on earth...

Hi Samuel,

I guess if your children are 4 & 2.5 then I'm a little older than you, my daughter will be 29 in February. We get to Las Vegas on Tuesday and are going to the Grand Canyon on Wednesday during the day. Quarks Bar around 7pm sounds great. I'm not sure what time they do the pre-registration but I guess we can meet and then go do the registration if it is later.  I know of at least one more Aussie that will be there on their own so I will let them know the time and place.

Looking forward to seeing you and many others in August.

Marilyn

I think they do the pre-registration from 7-10, so if you meet at Quark's at 7, you can easily do the pre-reg by 10.
