So I'm wondering, what do you all think the Bajorans are up to? So far I don't think that it's been discussed on the forums so its a NEW topic to talk about. Discuss!  :D

20 or so years after the end of DS9 I expect them to be members of the federation, and the bajoran militia integrated into starfleet. Sorry, I['m at work and don't feel humorous

There called members of the federation.  They still belive in there gods.  What better way for them to join the federation if not for the emissary that joined there gods in the wormhole.

Well there probably just a member of the federation and mabey even peacepeekers for the area arround the wormhole.

Though wut would be cool is if the Federation and bajorans worked together to build a defence sphere arround the wormhole that encloses the opening.

or...

They could be building an armada of ships to challange the federation for the control of the quadrant.   :bored: lol jk

lets face it, we all know the wormhole gave off radiation that made everyone in the area go crazy, sisko will be foudn in closet clutching a teddybear 50 years later after the federation makes radiation suits 5 feet thick.

I belive that in 20 years there is no militia and that a standard army is organized. The Governament is probably stable.
A posibility is that the government and religion is even more intertwined as all the prophecies became true.
So a posiblity is that the army is now a religious subpart and the government is run by the heads of the religios cast.
The situation can be quite interesting.
A second posibility is the religious cast geting a little in the back but holding a tight grip on the government.
The government could be quite stable and officialy indipendent form the religion.

The third option would be that the contact with the federation led to a hybrid between a religios government and the federations structure.

Mabye the Cardasian-Bajorian relations improved after the hit to the obsidian order. Mabye even an aliance for quicker post war recuperation.

Would be interesting if Sisko comes back, however, no offense to the devs, but I would hope to see this event or hear about it for the first time in a show or movie. Though I wouldnt want it to evolve around it, just actually hear about it.

Cool ideas everyone,
I envision Bajor as a peacefull world independant of the Federation. They gain in technology and develope an adequate defense fleet in the form of an army, not a militia. I would like to see a very stable centralized government on Bajor with a happy, Prophet loving public. Maybe even a few colonies? Gamma Quadrant anyone?  :D

Im sure the bajorans are major explorers and fighters. Of course by now, since they are able to access all of those fields, im sure they are in most of them.

Given their location it has always been difficult for them to remain self-sufficient, although the problem of the Cardassian has diminished with the almost complete collapse of their society. I can see great raiproachment between Bajor and Cardassia as the latter rebuilds, but ultimately I would think that Bajor would join the Federation. While having them outside the Federation was a great dramatic device during the run of DS9, it was pretty much ineviatable that they would join at some stage. Indeed it was only Sisko's 11th hour intervention that prevented the signing in the series.

Maybe Bajor is a member of the Federation, though still believers in the Prophets, and their emmisary, is living peacefully and growing old gracefully in the house he was going to build on the planet surface,

I belive that Bajor could mantain their own uniforms on their ships. They would have to use them only if they were starfleet officers.

If Bajor was to join the Federation, the space arm of the militia would be absorbed into Starfleet. This has been mentioned in the series. There is the potential for Bajoran officers to retain identity on the planets dealing with internal security, as seen by Vulcan command structures on a few occasions in the series. Bajoran ships are also not really up to complete interstellar operations, so I would guess they would be used for system and colony defence, gradually being phased out or upgraded with Starfleet technology.
