I Love EF2. I wanna see EF3 as you versus Species 8472, Romulans, Borg, Cardassians, and renegade Klingons. I would like it to start as you start on the Enterprise but get moved back in time to Archer's Enterprise and fight aliens there, then get transported back and fight all the aliens mentioned earlier. That would be sooooo sweet!

I think that is a great idea and i would love to see a EF3, maybe also if their is to be a new EF, some of it could be space battles, controlling starships, or sitting at tactical (touched in EF2). Also i would want more interactiverty between player and the environment, so you can explore new planets and whole ships, hopefully that might be in the online game coming out.

What I would like to see is Elite Force - M.A.C.O.  Where you serve on the NX-01.  You could set it in the gap between the last 2 episodes.  I'd rather keep the time travel elements out of the game, and bring in some new enemies, the ones we know are cool but I wanna fight some new stuff.

I like that idea of being a MACO but the reason they would have to use time travel is the same reason they moved EF2 to the Enterprise-E. They want it to focus on the most popular series. I liked Enterprise I that is why i suggested the time travel to NX-01. But I also like the Enterprise-E part (but can we please loose Tuvok. He has grown soooo old!;). In the Enterprise-E time a joint operation with Voyager crew would be sooooo cool!

Yes, Elite Force 3 would be great. I absolutely love Elite Force 1. And even though I haven't played EF 2 yet, I plan on getting it and I'm sure I'll like it.

I agree, MACO is the way to go. A TNG-era game would be ok but, I've really become burned-out and disinterested over TNG timeframe, I miss Enterprise, almost to the point where I might have picked the third option in your poll. Ditch the bandwagon, if the game rocks, it will sell, regardless if it is MACO. With Bakula and the rest lending their voices, it would be a sort of last goodbye (maybe :) ) with style. Who knows, there could be a growing interest in Enterprise, one MACO game wouldn't hurt and would only increase interest in the series. I like the retro feel of it, besides, that MACO phase rifle looks alot like the Elite Force rifle doesn't it?

Love the MACO idea and I loved EF 1 actually was just playin it a minute ago.  I bet I would have loved EF 2 if I'd played it, I just can't find it anywhere, loved the demo.  I totally love the idea of EF 3!

The overall company that holds the itellectual property of Star Trek does not own any game developers or game publishers. The only time they did was Viacom New Media which made DS9 Harbinger.

If you want to get publishers and develpers interested so they can approach Viacom to get a licensing deal ask for a new FPS not Elite Force 3 because people will compare it to the previous games. They should not make sequels or if they do should not name them as sequels because people compare them to the originals or have certain expectations which are not met. Also potential publishers will be looking at how the last sequels did and what profit they can make. I am pretty sure all of the sequels EF2, SFC3, Armada 2 did not sell more than their predecessors. It wouldn't be a good investment for new publishers to make another installment. Armada on the other hand did very well and is the second best selling Star Trek game behind 25th Anniversary. Rumour is the next Star Trek game will be a RTS/Strategy game.

Cool. Do you think it will be more like BOTF, or something else?

Harry Lang from Viacom/Paramount did post quite a few things at the beginging of this year. Some of these things I think have changed since then and his subsequent posts have been more cautious.

Quote
As far as what's in store for the future, there are some interesting developments. While not set in stone yet, discussions are on going for several all-new ST games (anybody here like strategy?). And one you might play sooner than you think if it happens These would be traditional SP/MP games. In addition, there are a couple of other initiatives I'm involved with. One involves resurrecting a previously cancelled ST game, and another is an idea I had that would involve the modding scene exclusively.

He has said recently when there is an announcement it won't be a press release. So now it might not be a strategy game as he is saying "other game" in his posts. I guess we will find out soon enough probably the begining of next year sometime.

A Strategy/RTS game would be my bet as that would be the most successful genre. A mix of features from Battle for Middle Earth and Empire Earth II.

This is a big task to under take as the Elite Force series is a well know brand to the star trek community Would it not be best to leave it to Activision?

Speed.
Because currently Activision is suing Paramount about the Star Trek license. In other words, there will not be any Star Trek game coming from Activision for at least 3-4 years, if not more. Which means, the chance to see a sequel to the Elite Force 2 game within 4-5 years is close to none. Therefore, we, the community, has decided to make it

Pan
So will you be able to play as your favoured character from star trek ?
Speed
For many legal purposes, we cannot do the story to involve known Star Trek character. Therefore, we need to create our own new character. Sadly, we are not allowed to use many known things from the Star Trek universe, but that will not stop us from doing a good SP. However, we will have to wait to finish the MP before starting on the real creation of the SP side

I got this info from the following website... http://halflife2.filefront.com/news/Elite_Force_3;8571

So it looks like the game wont have anything to with Star Trek considering it is a small company that doesnt have the license to produce and actual Star Trek game.
