Thank you for your response, I appreciate any advice / help I can get.  The general admission tickets...can you purchase them before hand or are they sold at the door?  About how much does it cost (guestimate) for a autograph pass?

Generally speaking, you can purchase the general admission before hand, or at the door. It's up to you, but I think they may go up a little bit at the door.

As far as autograph tickets, it depends on the star. Here are the prices for the Star Trek stars appearing at another convention happening in Pasadena in March from the Creation Entertainment website. Each star is usually the same price if they are going to appear at Vegas too.

AUTOGRAPH TICKETS
Here's your chance to pick up some in-person autographs from our attending celebrities:

JONATHAN FRAKES: $60
AVERY BROOKS: $50
BRENT SPINER: (Saturday) $40
GARRETT WANG: $25
GRACE LEE WHITNEY: $20
ALICE KRIGE: $20
JEFFREY COMBS: $15
ROBERT PICARDO: $20

Just to give you an idea. Some are fairly cheap, and some are expensive.

For those of you going to the 4Oth Anniversary in Las Vegas.

I believer you should still be able to buy tickets at the door but, don't quote me on that. I've been twice, and always just payed for a one day pass. It was 35$ last time but I'm sure the price will go up for the big Four O. Also sometime it starts out at a higher price range at the door the first couple of days and then it's lowered by the last day. But again they may have changed the game this year, but I don't see why they would turn away good money.

With a single day admission ticket you get most of the convention experience. IE- admission to all the rooms, vendors, speaking halls, autograph tables etc. And if you don't mind standing at the back wall as you hear your favorite ST personality speak, or waiting in line for a personalized autograph, than it's sufficient. What took me by surprise is that they had other Sci-Fi actors from various movies and TV series as well. Plus some of your favorite secondary and guest ST actors. Eg: I met the lead in 2001. Not Hal. The actor. ;) Linda Grey from "Buck Roger" 80's series. I think that was her name. "One" from ST:Voyager's "Drone" eps. Etc. And then of course their's the newly re-vamped "Borg Experience". But, just so I'm not misunderstood, that is a seperate attraction at the LV Hilton.

For those of you that are bringing your kids, the convention is usually held in the convention space, which is seperate from the casino. You have to walk thru the casino to get to it. But if memory serves me correctly you may also have an option to get right off the elevators and round the corner. Assuming your staying in that section of the Las Vegas Hilton. My pt being that it's not held in the middle of a casino with slot machines going off while Shatner speaks.

As an option you might want to price the other hotels near by. For instance...the "Riviera" is just across the street and up the block, walking distance. Across the street from that is "Circus Circus", which, as the name implies, has Circus type attractions plus an indoor theme park with roller coaster. Down the street from that, heading North on the strip is "The Stratosphere" which is also a hotel as well as a city landmark. At the top of "The Stratosphere" are two breath taking rides as well. A roller coaster that circles the structure and a ride called "The Big-Shot" which shoots you straight up into the air. Remember now your at the top of Vegas, so to speak, when your doing this. Closest I'll ever get to space

Again, all three aforementioned hotels are within walking distance of the convention. Unless your from LA, in which case you'll prefer to take a cab ;)

Whew! I'm done.
Just wanted to let you know their are options.
Hope this Helps :)

My wife and I will e travelling all the way from Australia to be there this year... Our third trip to Las Vegas, but our first US Star Trek convention... Been to several ones in Adelaide though, but I don't think they will have prepared me for what Las Vegas is going to be like  :p

Hopefully someone can answer a couple of questions for me... Is the price of the photo included with the autographs? Do they sign them in person, in front of you... How long are the lines normally to get the autographs (I know lthe bigger the star the longer the line)... Lastly, can you get them to sign something else, like a t-shirt?

I'll try to tackle a couple. There are personally signed photos that you can get which generally run 50-60 U.S dollars. Then there are the ones you see displayed on the tables which run around 15-20 dollars. Also signed. Just not personalized. Or rather, personalized meaning you see the star sign your copy right there.

The lines can vary, depending on the celeb as you said, but I found them not too bad.

I'm sure, once again, depending on the star, they might sign something else.
I got a photo with Kate Mulgrew and Jennifer Lien. Seperately. The guest stars or secondary characters and other Sci-Fi actors are more accessible. They're right there at tables and booths as you walk around. I had a nice chat with J. Paul Boehmer most famous for his role as "One" in ST:Voyagers "Drone" eps. Real nice fella. As well as Brad Dourif-Lt Suder/Chucky fame. Also "Dave" from 2001 A Space Odysey and "Icheb" from ST:Voyager as well. I just mention to let you know, in case this might be different from your conventions in Adelaide.

Hope this helps.
You and your wife have a great time and maybe we'll see ya there. :)

Thanks for that OneofOneof1... I'm hoping I can take a t-shirt for each ST series and get the relevant cast members to sign them... Hopefully I can find out BEFORE I fork out the cash whether they will or wont... Otherwise I'll probably just get some pre-signed photos... Maybe I'll e-mail Creation and ask them?

It'll be cool to have a chat with some of the 'secondary' characters :)

More question, or really just on the scrounge for rumors :D Does anybody think that either Leonard Nimoy or Patrick Stewart will be attending? I know Nimoy is going to be at Chicago and Sacremento, so I'm hoping he'll be at Las Vegas too... Those two would just top it off to be the greatest experience ever... Though there are still plenty of others I would like to see that haven't signed up yet...

Thanks again

Well, to answer your first one, with the main stars, generally the photo is not included with the price of the autograph. You have to provide your own photo, poster, etc. You are only paying to have them sign it. Creation always has the photo tables where you can buy a photo of the star (in character of course) for $6 for an 8 x 10. Most of the stars will sign anything that you want them to, but to be safe, I would email Creation like you said and see what they say.

The secondary stars that you find at the tables will have the price of the photo included in the price of the autograph.  Most of them charge $20 for an autograph, and that does include the photo.  You just choose which photo you want signed.

As far as Stewart being there, I would highly doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for him to be there again too, but he said in Vegas last year he had signed up to do 18 months or something of the Shakespeare Company in London, so I doubt he would have the time to do another con this year.

That's good news about the autographs... Still I'll e-mail Creation a bit closer to the event and double check... Thanks

 Oh well I think that's all hope of Patrick Stewart being there gone

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Leonard Nimoy changes his mind and decided to add Las Vegas to the list...

Of course eveyone else is welcome, but you'll only have access to the general areas...

Please remember this is a new board and is still under construction... Any constructive critisism will be appreciated...

Well apearantly an associate of mine has set up the official Romulan Consulate at a hotel there and offered me an invite. I may go, but I have a birthday bash shortly after in addition to no knowledge of my potential work schedule then (business tends to pick up a lot around September).

Yeah, Stewart is part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's attempt to do all of the Bard's plays over the next two years.  He's in "Antony & Cleopatra" and "The Tempest."  Both shows are in Stratford.  So, no cons the rest of this year, but if you can make it to the UK...
