Author David Gerrold will be the guest speaker at the meeting of the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society on Friday, Sept. 23rd, at 9:00pm. The location will be The Rotunda, near 40th & Walnut Sts., Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Gerrold was the author of the original Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles", as well as two books about the production of Star Trek. He was also the author of the Babylon 5 episode "Believers", and was a producer for the TV series "Land Of The Lost", as well as for the first season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation". His books include the classics "When Harlie Was One", "The Man Who Folded Himself", and the classic "War Against The Chtorr" series, as well as "Worlds Of Wonder", a how-to book about writing science ficiton and fantasy. His Nebula Award winning novella "The Martian Child" is currently being produced as a feature film starring John Cusack. Having seen him in person, I can tell you that he is a humorous, thought-provoking, and entertaining speaker, and if you come you will have a great time.
PSFS is a non-profit, fan-run organization that holds monthly meetings, and each meeting has a guest speaker. There is no charge for admittance. The Society's business meeting begins at 8:00pm, with the speaker following at 9:00. (Please feel free to skip the boring business meeting, and show up at 9:00pm!. Afterwards, many of us usually go to a local eating establishment to enjoy each others company and good conversation.
