Has anyone found a way to make Star Trek: New Worlds run under Windows XP?

I tried getting it to work the other day. I am able to install it and load up the game menu but as soon as a launch a mission I get an error.

Sure try this, go to my Computer.
2. Right click on NewWorlds(D)
3. Click Explore
4.Right click on Autorun, click compatibility.
5. Change compatability to Windows 98.

It drops to desktop, same with Generations and a couple of other games.

Do you have SP2 and DX9.0c? Because that is what I have and compatbility mode doesn't work.
