I am also going to the vegas con. I am very excited, I purchased the gold weekend passes, and I have also purchased a ton of autograph tickets as well. Between the autographs guaranteed having the gold ticket, and the ones I bought, I will have almost 40 autographs. Never been to vegas, it will feel like Mecca to me. Had to do it once in my life. Staying at the Hilton as well, so I hope to have many memories of this event.

i went last year, did the gold pass and autographs as well.  its worth doing once allthough by the end of it i was really ready to get out of there.  3-4 days of standing in lines just wore on me.  the photo ops were quick but the lines for autographs took a ton of time.  i think by the end of it, i wasn't even enjoying anything, i was just trying to get my money's worth for stuff i had pre-bought.

the experince is fun too, not sure how it is not during a convention though.  i liked the older ride better then the new one.

didn't care for the hilton much, not a very big casino, food is average at best, very smokey, pretty far off from the good part of the vegas strip.  its funny, the best food in the place is at the star trek resteraunt...

the cast at this year's event looks a ton better then last, i may go for a day or so to see some of the people new tot his year but won't go full bore on all the passes and stuff this time around, i don't want to even think about how much i must have spent.

I intend to go.  I am sorry, but now with no first run ST on TV, I have to get my fix somehow..... gotta live the fantasy one way or the other, and if that means keeping creation in business, well so be it!

According to the Creation web site, all of the Gold seats are sold out.  They are offering the Preferred tickets now.

It will be curious to find out how well the Vegas convention turns out.  The Pasadena convention had a smaller turnout than in previous years.  I wonder if the Vegas convention will be the same.

I am going to the vegas con - got captian chair weekend tix.  Staying at the Hilton, too.  I like it there - the rooms are always clean and the food not that bad - but you don't have to eat there - it's vegas baby!  I've been to vegas 5 times already and this time I'm getting married - on the Bridge of the Enterprise, the weekend before the con!!

Congratulations to you!  Instead of "I do" are you kids going to say, "Make it so."?

I purchased the gold package and I have added autograph tickets to people who were not included in the ticket purchase. I have also purchased three photo op tickets. SF49er, is it possible to cram all of the peoples autographs into the weekend. I know you said you stood in line all weekend. Did you purchase other autograph tickets as well, and end up getting all that you bought, or was it so busy that you had to pick out the important autographs you wanted and just bit the bullet on some of the others?

This will be the fourth year in a row that I've been to the Las Vegas convention, and I always have a blast!  I just get the General Admission seats, and I am not really into buying autographs. I entered (and won) the video contest last year, and my wife and I took first and third place in the costume contest last year. I'm working on a new video now for the video contest...

stngaddict : I went overboard on the photo-ops mainly, i didn't buy any of the autographs beyond the gold pass. my thinking before hand was i thought i would just have em autograph the picture from the photo-ops but i didn't realize you don't get the photos right away, its all after the fact. with the phto-ops and autographs, they are scheduled for set times and if your not there then, you don't get em. if you have stuff for each of the 5 shows, then you got lines to wait in every day as each day is usually centered around one show with t.o.s. being interspersed thruout all the days with the big boys in shatner and spock coming on sunday. the main stars are only there as little as they have to be. if they are doing photo-ops, they'll usually do em right before they go on stage for the slot they are scheduled to go on, they stay for as little as they have to and they get out of their really quick. then, if they are doing autographs whether it being the gold pass variety or extra on the side, they do em right after they did their 30 minute on stage commitment. if its a gold pass type autograph , then gold pass people go first otherwise its by ticket number but there are scenarios where sometimes especially for long lines, not everyone in line gets an autograph.

schedule-wise, sometimes stuff overlaps as in they may be doing autographs for someone while a photo-op for someone else but they usually try to accomadate those people first so more often then not, you do get everything you paid for. as i was mentioning before, by the end of it, i was tired of it all so on the last day, i didn't stay for some of the photo-ops i had already bought but i was able to trade em in for earlier people that i hadn't bought one for. you get the photo-op pics later in the evening the day of so for sunday's photo-ops, if your already gone by then, you can get em thru the mail...i dont remember exactly but i'de say i got atleast thru half of saturday fulfilling all my gold pass autographs, even for people i didn't even remember or know before i just said screw it and stuck to people i did know. the lesser stars on that gold pass, those people will be in the vendor room signing, some being their everyday. i remember cirroc, wheaton, quark's brother's wife being their for a little on each of the days. also, for one person, i want to say kate mulgrew but i am not positive on if it was her, she was in a hurry but in a cool jesture, walked herself thru a line that had formed in the vendor room that was for autographs for montgomery, park that were only gonna be there for a short amount of time before a flight or something so she fullfilled her autographs for gold passes that way....saw her hepburn show with my wife a few months back, good show....

I went to the convention in Vegas last year - it was fantastic! I enjoyed listening to the actors and then roaming around the traders' hall, I also got lots of autographs with my Gold Package. As I had reserved seating, I sat next to the same person every session and by the end of the convention found that I had a new pen pal (or email pal!). I can't go to Vegas this year but I really hope Creation hold another convention in Vegas in 2006!

I'm sure Creation will have another Star Trek in Las Vegas next year, after all it will be the 40th anniversary for the franchise.  Creation moved their big Star Trek convention from Pasadena a couple of years ago to Las Vegas.  What I really love about the Pasadena convention is that is also shows other sci-fi shows.  I can't afford to fly all over the country to convention and seeing the different stars at one show is really nice for me.

I'm going! It will be only my second time for the Las Vegas convention.  But, I had a blast last year!  I even saw DJLore and his lady in costume!

IMO sf49er has a point about the scheduling of all the photo ops and such. You could easily wind up spending half your time standing in line waiting for photos or autographs. It would be a pity to miss too many of the speakers/performers on stage.

I just hope they get W. Wheaton back this year.  He and his improv troupe were one of the highlights of the convention.

If anyone wants to organize a get together count me in.

I love the con in Vegas.  I have been to every one they have had so far.  I LOVE LAS VEGAS.  I ll be there this August 13-15.  I would like to meet up with a couple of fans and do the town after the convention.  I love the buffets and the clubs.  Anyone want to join me ?
