I definitely support these ideas for future Fan Collectives:
Klingons Ferengi Q
Klingons especially since that'd cover every series, while Ferengi at least covers four.

it says on http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/store/news/article/15350.html that: | Quote | The second in a series of four themed Star Trek collections, "Time Travel" is priced to own at $39.99 SRP in the U.S. and C$49.99 SRP in Canada.
|
Why does the Time travel set cost more than the Borg set in Canada and less than the Borg set in the US. Also, with regards to the price difference, why does the Time Travel set cost more in Canada than the Borg set in Canada if there are less episodes on the former?

You would think, given the boundless directionality of time travel and the incredible energy and warp capabilities of the Borg, that they would be able to get these box sets to Canada without any extra cost or time added. If I were the Borg, I wouldn't put up with any border trade tarrifs! I guess that Free Trade thing they put through years ago wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

I think it would be cool to do a Dominion box set - focus on important episodes in the Dominion story arc of Deep Space Nine. I love that stuff but can't afford to buy all 7 seasons.
Also, maybe an Alien collection featuring some of the craziest aliens from the different shows.

It would have been nice to see ST.COM's Borg documentary included as an extra on this new BORG Fan Collective set. Howabout, more of the footage shot for the Las Vegas attraction? There's not much in way of new material for the fan who has everything. Sure, a couple of new text commentaries but that's not much of an incentive for us collectors.

Have you guys checked that article lately? They added Q to the list. I see no thinks or posts about it save for the one person who informed me, so I'm just spreading the word in case it hasn't been spread. They have no details/summary for it, but there's a link to pre-order and a date - sometime in June. Thats exciting.

I gotta say the Borg Collective DVD is quite awesome. I mean it as Ent, TNG, and Voyager on it. Its like a seamless saga.
I recommend this set to every Trek fan. I actually saw a complete episode of "Enterprise" for the first time, and it was pretty cool.
"Regeneration" wasn't that bad if you look at it as a sequel to First Contact, and if you think that the timeline wasn't alter until the TNG crew reached the point in their timeline when they go back in time. Up until that point in their timeline their history hadn't been altered. However when they reached that point on their own timeline things were change.
A great DVD set. I have A dvd recorder and i've recorded episode from SPIKE TV but its just not the same. The quality of picture is nothing compared to the DVD's. I'll pass on the Tim Travel set because those episodes aren't the best.
However i am probably going to get the Q set. Paramount has wisened up.

I recently bought those 2 DVD sets, the Borg set, and the Time Travel set, and in some way I am getting a bit of the best of essential episodes, but Paramount has its hits and misses by also not looking at previous sets, like Voyager End Game being repeated, wasting a whole disc when other Time Travel related episodes like would have been perfect Deep Space Nine: - Children Of TimeDeep Space Nine: - VisionaryThose were left out of the time travel set, where an all DS9 disc would have been much better than having that lame Voyager Year Of Hell 1 & 2 Over all I thing that Deep Space Nine is not well enough covered - Emissary 1-2 - Captive pursuit - The Nagus - The Homecoming - The Circle - The Siege - Whispers - The Jem'Hadar - The Search 1-2 - The house of Quark - Visionary - The adversary - Trials and Tribble-ations - Children of time - His way - Take me out to the holosuite... - What you leave behind 1-2 Is the past I suggested a TV Movie Set with all double & triple features re-edited into none stop TV movies with one opening theme and one ending credits, and since everyone has a different taste, those TV movie versions could simply be sold as separate DVD film releases with possibly more than my personal favorite list DOUBLE & TRIPLE FEATURE-LENGHT TV MOVIESTNG: - Encounter At Farpoint 1 & 2 TNG: - The Best Of Both Worlds 1 & 2 TNG: - Time's Arrow 1 & 2 TNG: - Descent 1 & 2 TNG: - All Good Things 1 & 2 DS9: - Emissary 1 & 2 DS9: - The Homecoming + The Circle + The Siege DS9: - The Jem'Hadar + The Search 1 & 2 (as Triple feature-length movie) DS9: - What You Leave Behind 1 & 2 VOY: - Caretaker 1 & 2 VOY: - Scorpion 1 & 2 + The Gift (which completes Scorpion 1 & 2 into a Triple feature) VOY: - Endgame 1 & 2 ENT: - Broken Bow 1 & 2 ENT: - Shockwave 1 & 2 ENT: - The Forge + Awakening + Kir'Shara (as Triple feature-length movie) I was a bit disappointed that in the Borg set the following episode to Scorpion 1 & 2 that THE GIFT which was the conclusion to that story was not included My favorite most essential Treks http://groups.msn.com/HEROESCOMICS/startrekbest.msnw

In my view from those 2 DVD sets a full disc was wasted, first repeating the very same double feature Voyager episode End Game and the lame Year Of Hell 1 & 2
I would have liked more of Deep Space Nine rather than repeat the very same thing and collecting not so great episodes when better ones were available
Paramount should be more careful not to outside Season Set, not to repeat the very same episodes through different theme sets
If not a TV movie set, a Dominion set would bring more of DS9 best episodes to DVD
- The Jem'Hadar - The Search 1-2 - What you leave behind 1-2
along with best moments of the Dominion War
and no matter in which set, this one
Deep Space Nine - His way
needs a DVD
If sets, from the start I would have preferred Best Of Series separate sets; from the start Essentials separately by series and best TV movie versions would have been less complicated and more orderly
One essential set for each series in the end would have been enough
- FAN COLLECTIVE EDITION: THE ORIGINAL CLASSICS (top 16 ALL episodes set) - FAN COLLECTIVE EDITION: THE NEXT GENERATION (top 16 single episodes only set) - FAN COLLECTIVE EDITION: DEEP SPACE NINE (top 16 single episodes only set) - FAN COLLECTIVE EDITION: VOYAGER (top 16 ALL episodes set) - FAN COLLECTIVE EDITION: ENTERPRISE (top 16 ALL episodes set)
+ SEPERATE RELEASES DOUBLE & TRIPLE FEATURE-LENGHT TV MOVIES
Theme sets can be problematic like seen in the Borg & Time Travel sets with repeats of the same episodes, orderly is the better way
