Roleplays and MMO's are different creatures for the most part.

To tell the truth i'm not much of an MMO fan at all.

Only MMO i've played is WoW and that was because it's warcraft and not because it's an MMO. It's the same here with ST:O I'm interested because it's trek and not because it's an MMO.

As for gaming in general i'm a big time gamer across most every genre of game.

And Zo, you role play buffy? man....i'd admit to role playing star trek before i'd admit to that. Also 'role play' has eight stupid letters in it, not none.

Well, I've only played one, Everquest, and was horribly disappointed after I figured out what the game was all about: Nothing! Get in a little group and wait for the same repetitive spawns so we don't have to actually explore the game world, Or spend ungodly amounts of time doing pathetic quests for almost no reward. I spent 2 months actually exploring the doggone game world only to watch other people create characters and out level me without ever leaving the same 2 zones. Needless to say, EQ is something less than satisfying. It's difficult to be a hero in a world populated solely by heroes...I'm hoping STO will provide a sense of teamwork and accomplishment..and a sense of being needed, if you know what I mean, when you're a level 50 Wizard, who needs a level 20 Ranger? But, A Starship is powerful unto itself. Even a  crew full of newbies can be meaningful contributors in a space battle. ALL ship Captains need Ensigns. Right?

MMORPG:
1. Everquest: Which was really Evercamp and Everkill LOL.
2. Ragnarok:  Cute but not really all that fun. Killing and just more killing.
3. Guildwars (beta): Not my cup of tea felt more like an RPG online than a MMORPG.

RPG's online
1. Diablo
2. Diablo II
3. Neverwinter Nights
4. Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege Legacy of Arcana

Online Strategy:
1. Aramada and Aramada II
2. Birth of the Federation
3. Bridge Commander
4. Freespace

I know there are more but these were my mostly played online games.
