my son and i just got back from the fresno collectable convention this last weekend, met jack donner and vaughn armstrong as well as richard hatch and peter mayhew very down to earth folks and friendly.this event gave you the
change to meet the talent on a more one on one basis.somthing that doesn't happen very often with the bigger conventions.

This is the Disadvantage of living in South Wales, UK, there is never a ST convention, WHY?, I'd love to go, if there was one in Cardiff. Does anyone know why they don't have one in the UK, or Wales.

I've been to one, the London Expo in the UK. I loved it. I met Dominic Keating, Connor Trineer, Anthony Montgomery, and John Billingsley. I saw Linda Park, Tom Hardy, John deLancie, and Leonard Nimoy.

I fell in love with Dominic there, what a sweet man. He said that he was "touched" by the items I'd brought for him to sign. I melted into a pool at his feet.

Connor was sick, and actually seems rather shy and very serious about many things. He was very nice to me, though, when I asked him for something special.

Anthony was a hoot.

But John, John made my weekend. Asked us to the bar after the party. Stayed until the wee hours of the morning. I gave up at 2.30, and he was still there.

Never before, but I am currently at the convention in Maryland, USA - so far, all I have actually purchased is a few "Shore Leave Bunnies" but have my eye on Lot's of other things......
Only on actual event I attended so far, that was a Klingon Dinner, the food was good, a bit spicy, but not overly so - However, the "Blood Wine" was bad enough for a klingon General to ##### hard about it, even accusing the Bartender of replicating it, with a replicator in need of repair!
I did get luck in a raffle (first time in my life I have won any thing of any real value) - I won a nice wepon! - A One-handed one, Perfactly ballanced, Blades on 3 sides.. - Just holding it feels nice! :)
Anyway lot's more to see tomarrow and Sun.....

I suggest you attend some of the ones in London. I'm sure you could get cheap buses from Wales to London - I come from Scotland and get 'em for 2 pound return!!  :D

Here are some photos from May's Expo in London:

They're on my blog. Just page on down. I have some towards the top, then more towards the bottom of the page, after the Polaroids from the Upfronts.

Do post your comments there, let me know you visited.

BTW: I attended Expo, then the Upfronts, in the same week. Once I got home, I looked at the photos and immediately went on a diet. There is nothing, NOTHING, that will make one want to lose weight more than standing next to the woman who plays "Claire" on "Lost". I'm a good three of her.

Just got back from my first con.  Shoreleave 27 in Baltimore Md and unfortunately I was only able to stay for one day but I did get to meet Chase Masterson and get her autograph.  She seemed very nice and very down to earth it was an experience I will always treasure.  Can't wait till the next one!
