Bridge Commander is a good game and a second would be welcome, but I got a little sick of blowing up Galors and Keldons.  Give me some more science and first contacts and I would be satisfied.

There is No Offical Bridge Commander 2. You Might want to check out BCfiles.com and the Bridge Commander Modding Community in General. There has been plenty done with this Game since it's release back in 2002.

*Banbury's QuickBattle Replacement (QBR 2.2):

This Mod allows you to creates and save customized missions. This mod also has a "Transporter" Function that allows to transport from your damaged ship to a friendly ship or base.

*NanoFX2b:

Realistic Explosions and Sound FX. The Ability to view your ship at warp. Select your Warp Speed, Running lights added to Ship Hardpoints. Atmospheres added to Planets. Flash points for torpedo launchers.

C2X Borg Mods:

The Canon Hardpoints and Custom Weapons have to be seen to be belived. I still Love my Tactical Cube and Sphere

*NXDefiant's QuickBattle Autostart (QBA):

This mod opens the choices of the command menus of the Bridge Crew. Most in SFC and Klingon Academy Style. the Ability to Scan your enemy forces and individual targets. Use Marines to "Capture" a Entire vessel or disable a Sub system.

The Ability to Give "Fleet, Friendly, and Neutral" Commands. You can Abandon ship, call for Rienforcements per specific Race and so on. You can also Add ships while in game.

NXDefiant also made a Multiplayer mod called (FBCMP v.7) this allows added features of (QBA) to show up in Multiplayer. Also you can now fight from your Bridge view. To give it a more canon feel.

*Sneaker98's MVAM 2.0 (Infinite):

This Mod allows ships to seperate or swap out while in game. In a cinematic sequence. So Mods for the Prometheus, Galaxy, Intrepid and Sovereign Classes can now "seperate" As for the Intrepid mod? She can raise her nacelles for a canon warp. I love that some of these ships comes in large ship packs. Each unique in thier Hardpoints and torpedos.

*Advanced Technologies Pack: Dimentions (ATP:D):

This mod totally "reshapes" Bridge Commander into a playable Universe. With Spatical Anomalies and independant A.I.'s. You choose your species and your actions will decide "War or Peace" Or an unsteady "Truce". The A.I.'s will fight amoung each other. Alliances can be Forged or Broken. Perform Rescue Missions. Recieve Missions from Starfleet Command. You can explore and discover new worlds and civilizations.

Though this is a "Work in Progress". It's one of the Greatest Efforts being made for the game.

There are also Mods that let you change you Bridge Crew's Uniforms to what ever era you like. Total Conversions including Federation, Klingons and Romulans. Original and Canon Bridge sets were made and retextures. Cool Weapons and hardpoints have been made for the game as well.

I'd suggest you check out the Site links and Archives @ BCfiles.com. And check out the Modding Communities making these cool additions. Things that did not come with the Original game.

"No again you are going blah blah blah, this game is not played at night, you are curb crawlers which we must oversea, once the legitimate business has been concluded."

I honestly have no idea what you just said.

LOL, Same here, I cant even guess what he was saying.

Hehe anyways, Thanks for the heads up on those mods SB375, that ATP is another mod I will have to check out for sure! (Civilization-like Politics in BC?---Awesome!!;) Is it still being developed? I hope so, it sounds like a great idea!

Some good points in there too, Cowboy. I also wondered why we couldnt have constant phaser fire like the ones in TOS seemed to have. Altho if I think about it, they would probably say b/c the technology is different and would blow out if it was continuous in that fashion. But youre totally right on the subsystem thing---other than for specific missions where we had to disable something for the mission---the subsystems were sort of wasted here. They had potential, but werent used properly to make it fun and/or worth the time and trouble to disable a subsystem. That was somewhat of a letdown, but something that could probably be fixed without too much work.

I really liked BC, but the golden egg for me that was missing from the Multiplayer side of the game, (and is often neglected in Video Games nowadays) was a quality CO-OP MODE. I have several friends with gaming PC's, and I remember how letdown we were that there was no type of Coop in this game where we could do missions together....it was such a bummer that we couldnt relive the series experience of meeting each other in our own ships and helping each other accomplish some missions for StarFleet! Or at the very least, they could have made the "Custom Battles" allow you to team up and ally against an entirely AI enemy. Either way, some robust coop action ALWAYS makes a game a notch above, and adds to the replayability factor that makes a great game!

Just imagine being able to play thru the Single Player Campaign that way: whether its at someones house on a LAN (like my brother and our friends do on weekends about once a month), or online with other people, playing missions together---each in your own ship, helping each other take on the Cardassians! Instead of just being a good game we enjoyed, Bridge Commander would have been an instant classic! I was hoping someone would make a mod that would focus on Coop modes, but I havent heard of any so far.

Think of the missions you enjoyed playing in Bridge Commander---and now think of a friend or two playing the missions with you at the same time--in the same game, flying with you as youve both just been ordered by StarFleet to accomplish that mission, after you both just resupplied at the StarBase. Would be an awesome component to a game like this!
