Send the Pluto Probe now???

There seems to be some debate going about if should send a pluto probe now or wait until we develop a more sophisticated ion drive system for this and our other outer solar probes? I know there is a concern about the atmospere freezing after 2020 on Pluto. Do we go with current technology or wait?
