I know right now the Plan is to only have the Federation, but I think maybe the DEVs should shoot for 2 or 3 at launch.
But if they stick to the Federation for now, then what should be the next one added? If it's by free download what should it be. If by disk how many would you want on there, and which ones would you like to see?

I'd say in terms of sheer popularity it'd go : Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians.
After that maybe Delta and Gamma quadrant expansions.
I dont think i'd want to see any of them as a free download that'd likely mean they'd be poorly made and i dont want poorly thought out empires.

Romulans would be more adequete, they are in effect in all series...which means theyre more recognisable...

actually i dont think so. Klingons have also appeared in every series and also have lots more information on them. they're definately the more recogniseable to the general public. i've not seen paramount release a romulan dictionary, have you? They have however released a Klingon dictionary.
Personally i'd like the cardies to come first, but i can realise which would be most likely to come out first. i mean hell, there's already several games games BASED on klingons alone and none that i know of for romulans.

Maybe with the 1st expansion, we will see the all the governmets that are on the game Birth of the Federation, and with them will get added the history of each and all that goes with it. So if you pick to be Klingons, you get to pick the races under the Klingon flag, and you need to do all that goes with being under that banner. Pain sticks anyone? hehe
Same if your a Ferengi (however it's spell hehe), you will need to follow there rules of gaining weath, and if you fail maybe your giving poor duty assignments.
But I can se the 1st expansion giving us the other governments, with new player ship types and new worlds to visit.

Sadly that decision has already been made and they should stick with it. To do else is sheer folley.
Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Fereni/other non-aligned worlds
In that order, IMO
