My friend and I were discussing Armada and he mentioned that his brother had gotten a patch or something that gave all the species a new ship or station to build but that his brother couldn't remember where he got it from... Can anyone help me find it (if it exists... He has a habit of embelishing stuff)... Thanks...

No, not a patch, a fan-created modification (mod) of which there are probably hundreds in existence including total conversions. You'd have to be more specific about what was contained within the mod in order for us to find it for you. For now, however, can someone point out some good modding sites for Armada? Below seems to be the largest that I can find:
