I wonder if the US or any other nation can build a real starship. If they really did, it would be so cool. Here's what I think, they should build the starships in order:
Enterprise NX-01 Enterprise Enterprise A Enterprise B Enterprise C Enterprise D Enterprise E
Comments or suggestions will be welcome.

I don't know if we'll be around long enough to see it happen but if they do build a starship then they just have to name it Enterprise.

Right now it's possible, but it won't travel very far or fast and there is a slight possiblity that it might crash on one of the solar planets or travel into a black hole.

I know, but try to make a ST sytle starship, but slowly progress to making one with warp speed.

lol, we'd spend all the money buidling the space dock and not have anything left over for the ship it's self. I think we need to get a WORKING space station in orbit first. We could use that to build our first star ship. and we also need to get around that little problem with having some gravity on this ship...

Well personally I think they should focus on building up Earths space infrastructure. This is important, because if you were to build an antimatter propelled space craft you would need somewhere to refule it. Unless it carried its own antimatter generator (which wouldn't make enough). Warp drives are theory but it would take a big infrastructure of slow speed space travel. As warp drives are based on the assumption thar if you got enough anti-matter (anit-hydrogen) and matter (duterium). You could propell the ship at the speed of light, remember E=MC2. E=MC2 means energy=mass*speed of light squared. which means that if you anhialated enough you would be able to propell yourself at the speed of light. But no. Thus comes in Einstiens other theory that if you travelled at the speed of light your wieght would instantley reach infinity. So unless you did some thing else, bring the area that you want to go to closer an your current position further away. So I conclude that it would take however many light years to reach the star reduced by. Ahh I don't know

It's unlikely that we will have warp drive since we do not know if it is even possible.
As for a spaceship....we may build a defensive spaceship oneday to guard against other human factions but the likelihood of an exploratory spaceship is not very positive.
