I'd voted science, a good desision I think, since command seems a little crowded.

I wouldn't be anywhere near all those people when they start fighting over that seat...For christ sake people, IT'S ONLY A CHAIR!!! :p

Based on the voting so far it looks like a lot of Captains and security.
A lot of starship and boarding party combat...with a lot less emphasis on the rest.

I don't mind.  I believe ST O will be mostly combat centric.

With hopes for a more expanded combat system like SFB thats already been shaken down after years and years of testing.

Why are tatical officers always considered security officers? Having a tatical officer (who is a commissioned officer mind you), be a security guy, is like having the bombadier of an airforce bomber double as a MP. The only logic here is that he's a 'fighting guy'. Firing a starship based phaser, and photon torpedo, is *completely* different than firing a handheld phaser. I want to be a tatical officer, because I'm interested in starship combat, I'm not terribly interested shipboard security concerns, and I would hate to have it be required of me. Though admittedly, I'd probablly train up in personal phasers/combat anyway.

I understand your point and am sympathetic.

Nor would I want Tactical grouped with security.

I'd start in Engineering, then transfer to command later on, I've ran guilds in MMORPG's before, so I'm more than happy to go for the command role, I think it was mentioned earlier though, alot of people want to lead groups, guilds, etc, but when push comes to shove I'll bet over half will back down in favour of having others do all the time consuming work (anyone thats ran a large guild will understand what I mean) :)

I'm with you brother! I ran a small one with help from my wife and all my clan members were people I know face-to-face and it was enough work to cure me of wanting to be in charge.

Medical for me.

It has always been a passion of mine to aid and assist those in need. While I may be interested in many things and have tried other things in various MMORPGs, I tend to always end up as the Healer/Doctor (and in doing so usually end up the first target/quickest death in PvP ;) ).
