Just thought I would mention that Online Universe has been launched and we hope to keep you up to date with all of the news on Star Trek: Online and also bring you some interesting stuff. If you aren't aware of any of the other 'Universe' sites then head on over to Star Trek Gaming Universe. If any of you remember Armada Universe we were very succesful at covering the news on Armada II and had a couple of chats with the developers - Mad Doc Software and the publisher - Activision. Hopefully we will be able to arrange something like we did above with Perpetual. Just have to wait and see.

I don't want to instigate a board flooding of guild promotions so I thought I'd post this here to keep to one thread. I'm looking to go ahead and start building a guild from the ground up with some mature individuals. I will be providing the webspace and domain name as well as the web design once the founding members have developed a structure, decided on a name and created a vision for where we want to go. I understand that beta is still a little over a year away, but getting a community started that can grow, get to know each other and develop into a strong and thriving guild by gold takes time and effort. If you'd like to get in on a mature guild that is careful about it's recruiting and structured in order to help it's members succeed, you can either PM me here or visit me over at some temporary forums I've put up on my other website at http://www.rainquake.com/forums. Live long and prosper.

Bit early for it, but interesting what the possibilities will be for clans. I like the name 'guild' rather than clan

Never to early to start a great community of folks with common interests. I wonder what term they'll use for STO. I like the word guild more than clan also though.

Guild is more often used in mmo's. Even though a guild in STO might not fit right, it should be expected that most people will still call it a guild out of habit.

Yeah, guild is definitely more used. I'm just wondering if they'll come up with a new term ingame like SWG did.

I don't think the word "guild" will fit here unless it deals with crafting. I think it should reflect more of what a guild would be ie, if it is a subdivision, or group under a specific Alliance, the name should be reflected. NOt sure of what term should be used though, just not Guild, Clan, PA or similar that most use.
