There are lots of good interesting SFC3 mods out there. I heartily recommend people try as many of them as possible.

Please feel free to come and check out Dynaverse.net.

Islandwars' site is located here.

The main thing is to enjoy SFC3 as it's made better by the modders who had dedicated their time and efforts for free, just to help the players enjoy themselves. I salute them all!

okay, lets straighten a few things out.

First off, SFC3 can no longer be found like sfc1,2 and op because it looks like activision RMA'd the game beyond just quitting production. Amazon.com and ebay are good places to find the game.

SFC3 (and the sfc community) is still alive and kicking. Even though Taldren (the developer) has closed shop - we (meaning the community) have created a place called dynaverse.net. It is a work still in progress which will be a hub for all things SFC related (such as patches, etc).

Finally, while Water Tiger is correct in posting about the mods (and the mods for sfc3 are by far the best, imo, than other trek games - that is large part thanks to taldren for the modability of the game) - those 3 (especially near distant future) are not necessarily "the bigest mods."

There is battlezone (by the battle clinic - www.battleclinic.com), there is also islandwars (cannot remember the url for it, but its on the gamespot downloads page) and my mod, Generations at War. (www.starfleetcommand3.net).

I would encourage individuals to check all the mods and enjoy them. Lots of ground to cover and many hours to spend blasting your friends. :)

So come on in - the water is fine. In my opinion, it is the best Trek game to be playing until another comes along..

Nanner and Kortez,

Didn't mean to miss GAW or BZ here.

I printed it in another topic here earlier ... with links.

Kortez,

Curious why Dynaverse.net only advertises and provides uploads for two mods for SFC3 -- BattleZone and Fluf's Litterbox 5 -- both BC mods?

I thought D.net was going to be for the ENTIRE   community, not just a small segment of BattleClinic supporters ...

**sigh**

STGD hosts forums for ALL mods with links ... That's why many of us back Victor1st at STGD -- all voices have support from them, all Trek games for over five years.

Personally, d.net appears to be an EAW/OP site, with support in SFC3 for only Battleclinic supporters, at least for uploads. Many of us have asked these questions at d.net and they have not been answered satisfactorily.

D.net links only the Battleclinic shipyards and no others ... very strange, IMHO.

As you know, I don't speak for STGD, but just as a gamer and modder.

Personally, speaking for myself, I am disappointed in http://dynaverse.net to date ... The biases are starting to show, IMHO.

Good luck there in the future. Hopefully policy changes will be implemented to allow ALL voices to be heard there.

BTW, we are happy to host any SFC downloads on Dynaverse.net.  Just contact us because we are still working on the upload automation.

Thanks,
Kortez

hm.. i want to point out that clan directory only host 3 mods. thats it. it does not host any other mods (it might, but it does not host some of the other mods such as battle zone, generations at war, or island wars i believe) - and that is fine, it is certainly your perogative.

That said, though, d.net is the hub for the community since taldren closed its doors. that is what its sole purpose was for and is why it was entrusted with the sfc2 directory servers (among other things).

d.net will support/ provide downloads to all mods. It is taking time to get upto speed - but will be there soon. There is no bias - just support for the community as we try to stick together.

thanks!

First of all it isnt a clan directory.  Its the Star Trek Gamers Directory.

Secondly, we are NOT only hosting 3 mods for SFC series games, we are a close second to SFC3files for the amount of complete mods.  We have Chris Jones ENTIRE collection which is over 4 gb of mods, we are the main host for UNITY, NDF, Domwars.  We also mirrored IslandWars, your own G@W (then you never contacted us back to mirror the new version)

Thirdly, STGD is open to everyone if they want there mod mirrored, is it my fault you have IGNORED STGD when it comes to mirroring patches, and mods?  NO...it is'nt.

Dynaverse.net might be the hub of the community for SFC, you people need to realise that the trek game franchise does not revolve around the dying SFC series, infact, to be honest it really revolves around EF, Armada 2 and Bridge Commander, they done far better in sales than SFC 2 and 3 combined and the modding communities for each of those games is massive (especially BC) compared to the SFC series.

STGD's Main Download Hub

STGD Hosted Tri-Mod Yards

Tip of the iceberg when it comes to the STGD's modding section.  Vic's back in hospital and the spin against STGD is starting again, remember, your now dealing with me Nanner, and i aint as happy to sit back and watch the anti-STGD spin being thrown from d.net as Vic was.  I answer back, all the time.  I'd advise you to remember that.
