Paramount is right now saying things will change by the end of this year. Activision have been out of the scene for the past year as they dropped trek gaming and started a lawsuit against ViaCom. http://www.trek-gamers.com/hlang have a read, its Paramount/Viacom's Harry Lang, the head honcho for Star Trek Gaming...

I Disagree, i think that the starfleet command series has the most dedicated fanbase, and as such, it is a perfect place for a trek gaming comback. I would love to see a moderated mix of all thrree games, with some new stuff like a more intresting single player mode, and an AI that plays much better. and the ability to choose a Trek Era, then choose from a wide selection of ships, but be able to customize that ship with the Eras tech. I would still prefer the faster gameplay of the third SFC though.

If anyone has any info on upcoming sfc titles, i would appreciate it :P

It should have ALL canon ships (Saber, Defiant, Norway, Galaxy, Sovereign, New Orleans, Nebula, Ambassador, Excelsior , Akira) and 8 Races (Feds, Klings, Borg, Rommies, Carddies, Dominion, Breen, Ferengi) and a lot of new weapons (polarons, energy drain) AND I WANT the old Overloads in SFC Sfc2 and SFCOP

I did not like the SC series... The ships were not balanced right, the handling was too complicated. I don't think the series deserves another sequel.

"SFC" and "SFCII" were both terrific.
Yet "SFCIII" stinks. And here's why:
If you don't play online (yeah, there are those of us who wish to play the campaigns), then here's what you've got to deal with-- 1) A storyline which pretty much requires you to start as the Klingons and work your way through the Romulans to the Federation ... basically elminating your choice as a player to 'play' whichever race you want. 2) A set difficulty level that makes Klingons=easy, Romulans=normal, and Federation=difficult. Again, kinda' screwing with that whole 'choice-thing.' 3) A need to immediately upgrade your ships ASAP. Yeah, in "SFC" and "SFCII," you could cruise around in a missile destroyer for most of the game if you wanted. The AI would compensate and give you 'equal' opponents. Yet in "SFCIII," the game will dish out two Warbirds against a Sabre.
"SFCIII" also eliminated races such as the Gorn, Hydrans, Lyrans, Mirak, and ISC. And never gave us the Cardassians, Dominion, or Breen.
The developers of "SFCIII" (Activision) also had the bright idea to eliminate two sets of shields. Instead of making the fights more interesting with six shields, you only had four.
"SFCIII" eliminated 'fighters' and missiles.
In "SFCIII," you can no longer control a fleet of three ships. You get one. That's all.
The cloaking devices in "SFCIII" cannot be detected AT ALL. And considering you're fighting Romulans or Klingons nearly 90% of the time, that can grate on your nerves BIG TIME.
Oh, and the map system sucks @$$.
In short, "SFCIII" is weak.

What about Raven? They did an awsome job with EF....They have a good rep... Man Activision is just dumb...they have pleanty of material to make the games with..but they seem to be under the idea it HAS to be baised of one of the showes or movies....no original thought from those people...
