The US Army is developing various non-lethal weapons, such as ...
"...the pain ray being developed by the Air Force Research Laboratory, with a reported range of more than 700 yards, could make the grade. Officially designated the Active Denial System, the system fires millimeter-wave electromagnetic energy--like microwaves but in a different bandwidth. Penetrating just a 64th of inch beneath the skin, the waves feel ’like a hot iron on you,’ Heal said.
"The burning sensation is bad enough that people have to run away from them, quick. And that causes mobs to break up in a hurry. It’s no wonder, then, why Heal calls the ray the ’Holy Grail of crowd control.’
"And the pain ray is nearing the deployment stage, said Air Force Research Laboratory spokesman Rich Garcia. The system has been tested on hundreds of people without any long-term physical harm. The military is funding studies to see what the psychological effects of the weapon are and to see if exposure to the system will cause damage at the cellular level or cause cancer."
Well ... still better than stopping a bullet with your body. Not as "gentle" as a phaser on stun, I suppose, but it’s nice that they’re working on these things.

I disagree. I believe bullets are better. When HUmans are gently pushed aside, they feel humiliated. They feel ignored. And they feel powerless. That leaves burning resentment and leads to revenge.
If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation.
No human is going to stop having sex. Pornography is one of the largest industry’s in the world. Prostitution is the second oldest profession in human existance. Therefor, there is a limitless supply of humans. There now exists more humans than bullets. And since there is a endless supply of humans, what value can they have?

You ask what value human beings can have? That’s an odd question, coming from a human being.
Am I understanding you right, are you saying that when you can accomplish your immediate goal by stunning someone, it’s still better to kill him, because if you stun him he may seek revenge later? And you’re anticipating my objection that sparing his life is naturally desirable with your argument that human life is valueless?
I’d hate to attribute such an inhumane philosophy to you by mistake, but that’s what it sounds like. Goodness, if human life seems worthless to you, what (if anything) strikes you as worth working for?
