What’s all this talk about Trek’s 25th Anniversary? TV Guide is having a big deal and TNN is running episode of TNG, I think, in honor of it. Trek was first aired in 1966. Add 35 years to that and you get...
2001. Last year. We missed it. Nothing happened except we got another bad new Trek series.
It’s over Paramount. You dropped the ball and now you don’t expect us to notice.

Of course, in my message I said 25th anniversary. I meant 35th. *sigh*

Actually a TV season is from fall to spring, so the first season of TOS would have been the 1966-1967 season, and the 2001-2002 season is infact the 35th anniversary.
As if Paramount would forget!
sheesh.

Technically the anniversary was in September of 2001 but they seem to be milking it for all they can get.

You mean to tell me that simply because Star Trek’s first season spanned 1966 thru 1967 that 2001 is the 35th anniversary? Someone cut me a break.
Star Trek was "born" on screen in September 1966. That’s it. When we reached the 21st century, we celebrated on New Years Eve. That’s it. One day, all over. To drag out an explanation that "oh, it’s still the 35th annoiversary because the first season was going on until mid-1967" is rediculous. Star Trek first came out in 1966. That’s it. Period. That’s the anniversary. All last year we heard nothing, but NOW we do and you say it’s okay?! Christ, why do you let Paramount just hand you any steaming crap that they call gold? This is why we get Voyager and Enterprise. Because "it’s Trek so it’s good". Robots...
In 1991, Star Trek had its 25th anniversary. 1992, it was over. The end.
