WWCTS? -- Sirtis Lands New Role, Celebrates Birthday
By StarTrek.com Staff - March 29, 2013
WWCTS? – or What would Counselor Troi say? Marina Sirtis, who portrayed the empathic counselor on Star Trek: The Next Generation across seven seasons and four TNG features, has her next role: she’ll head up the Mossad, taking over from the late Eli David (Michael Nouri), on NCIS. Sirtis’ character, Orli Elbaz, will make her debut in April and is set to be a recurring character.
“The search to replace Eli David as Mossad Director was tricky for us, but we ended up with a true find in Marina Sirtis,” showrunner Gary Glasberg told TVLine of the casting. “I’ve always been a Star Trek fan, but Marina really owns this part. And the cast loves her. She’s everything I wanted for the role and then some. We are lucky to have her.”
And in other exciting Sirtis news, today is her birthday. So, please join us, everyone, in congratulating Sirtis on her new gig AND in wishing her a happy birthday.
