The Captains Mini-Series Debuts Tonight
By StarTrek.com Staff - May 16, 2013
There’s no final frontier when it comes to William Shatner’s fascination with the men and women who’ve sat in the captain’s chair in a Star Trek enterprise. Back in 2011, Shatner directed The Captains, in which he sat down for extended conversations with Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula, and caught up as well for a few moments with Chris Pine, who plays Kirk in the current Star Trek features. Shatner’s back now with The Captains Close-Up, a mini-series that will premiere tonight on EPIX. It’s part of EPIX’ “Trekkie Fest,” which will also include William Shatner’s Get a Life and a Close-Up devoted to Shatner.
Each of the Captains Close-Up episodes runs 30 minutes, with Shatner leading the conversation with the individual actors. Other familiar Trek names interviewed throughout the mini-series include Walter Koenig, Jonathan Frakes, Rick Berman, Brannon Braga, Ira Steven Behr, Ronald D. Moore, Robert Beltran, Terry Farrell, Michael Dorn, Nana Visitor and Rene Auberjonois.
EPIX is offering a 14-day free trial of their service that includes The Captains Close-Up. Click http://www.epixhd.com/freetrial/ for details.
